February 11, 1916 — April 15, 2011

Evelyn Norman, 95, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, April 15, 2011 following a lengthy illness. Funeral mass will be at 10:30am Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Marion with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-6:00pm Monday at the church with a Scripture Service to be said at 6:00pm. Arrangements by Hofmeister-Jones Funeral Chapel, Marion. Evelyn Ann Harens was born February 11, 1916 at Marion, SD to Charles and Anna (Renk) Harens. She lived her entire life in Marion, where she and her husband, Glen Norman, raised their family. They owned and operated a dairy delivery service and a small café for many years. Evelyn was an excellent baker; her delicious pies and rolls were favorites with many. Her husband Glen died in 1972. She was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed her family and friends. Evelyn will be remembered for her friendship, kindness and devotion to the Lord. Her children, grandchildren and extended family will treasure memories of her warm smile, faithful prayers and steadfast love. Grateful for having shared her life are her 3 daughters, Glenda (Ed) Britain, Republic, MO, Patricia Norman, Norfolk, NE, and Jacqueline (Joe) Paris, Turlock, CA; granddaughters Jennifer Paris and Laurie (Dennis) Carvalho; great grandchildren Kimberly, Nicholas and Samantha Carvalho; nieces and nephews Cathie (Ron) Mimick, Matthew and Melanie Mimick, Charles (Lola) Harens, and Paul (Kathy) Harens. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Lorraine, and brothers Arthur and Leo Harens.
