Helena Miller

Helena Miller, 95, died Saturday, July 9, 2011 at the Bethany Lutheran Home, Sioux Falls. Funeral services will be at 2:00pm Friday, July 15, 2011 at the United Methodist Church, Parker with burial in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday at the Hofmeister-Jones Funeral Home, Parker with family present from 6-8:00pm. Helena Louise Freese was born on July 25, 1915 at Sioux Falls to Ray and Elsie (Viet) Freese. She grew up near Parker and was united in marriage to William “Bill” Miller on September 16, 1948 at Parker. They farmed near Parker for a time, moved to a farm near Montrose before moving back to Parker in 1965. For a number of years she worked at the Hilltop Nursing Home. She was a member of the United Methodist Church. She looked forward to the monthly cousin get togethers. Her husband died in 1985. Grateful for having share her life are 4 children, Larry (Mary Jo), Montrose, Debbie (Dennis) Cummings, Sioux Falls, Laurie Ihnen, Tea, and Gary, Tea; 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; and a sister Shirley (Carl) Stanek, Henderson, NV. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a grandson Michael, a great granddaughter, Britten, a brother Louis “Bud”, and a sister Lucille.
