Melvin Michael

Melvin Michael, 86, died Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at the Tieszen Memorial Home, Marion. Funeral services will be at 2:00pm Saturday, August 6, 2011 at the United Methodist Church, Parker with burial in Rosehill Cemetery, Parker. Visitation will be Friday at the Hofmeister-Jones Funeral Home, Parker with family present from 7-8:00pm. Melvin Roger Michael was born on February 18, 1925 at Parker, SD to Albert and Anna (Huxsol) Michael. After attending school at Parker he served in the US Army during WW II. He was employed with Cal Schmidt Construction for many years. He was a member of the American Legion. Grateful for having shared his life are 7 nieces and nephews, Meredith Clark, Hurley, Mary Ellen (Jerry) Heirigs, Sioux Falls, Gloria (Daren) Anderson, Hartford, Helen (Scott) Nielsen, Tea, Thomas Duane (Pam) Falconer, Sioux Falls, Wanda Trainer, Parker, and Irvin Michael, Jr.; and many great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Leola and Doris, brothers Irvin, Louis, Victor, and Benjamin, and a niece Gail.
