Eyvonne M. Johnson, 79, died Sunday, August 7, 2011 at the Dougherty Hospice House, Sioux Falls. Memorial services will be 1:30pm Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at the Chancellor Reformed Church, Chancellor. Arrangements by Hofmeister-Jones Funeral Home, Parker. Eyvonne M. “Bonnie” Johnson was born on November 25, 1931 at Madison, WI to James and Mary (Lee) White. After growing up in Wisconsin she was united in marriage to Merle “John” Johnson at Madison, WI. They lived in Wisconsin before moving to South Dakota in 1955. They lived in several small communities before moving to Sioux Falls in 1969. For the past 14 years they have lived in Chancellor. She had worked at McKennan Hospital and as a nurses aid. She also was involved with Homes with Heart and provided adult foster care in her home. She was a correspondent for the New Era with bits and pieces from Chancellor. She enjoyed gardening and bowling. Grateful for having shared her life are her husband Merle “John”: 3 children, Mel (Mary Ann), Appleton, WI, Dawn (Don) Nelson, and Judy Hill, all of Des Moines, IA;a son in law, Ron Schulte, Parker; 8 grandchildren, Nathan (Becky) Johnson, Sarah Jean Johnson, Michael Johnson, Jamie (John) Nelson, Nicholas (Megan) Nelson, Jason (Chrystal) Schulte, Eric (Kurah) Schulte, and Brian Schulte, and 3 great grandchildren, Mya, Allissa Marie, and Jordan John; special family friends, Donna and John Rumbaugh family; and special companion “Bear”.
