Funeral services will be 1:30pm on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at the First Baptist Church, Parker, with burial at Rosehill Cemetery, Parker. Thelma Henrietta Beier was born on December 27, 1909 at Mahnomen, Minnesota to Nels and Nettie (Otterness) Flom. After the death of her mother the family moved to western North Dakota to homestead along with other members of the Otterness family. After a period of time she moved back to Minnesota and Mahnomen where she graduated from high school and played jump center on the girl’s basketball team. After high school she attended the University of Minnesota for nurses training. She worked in hospitals in Detroit Lakes and East Grand Forks. While in North Dakota she met Aaron P. “Pat” Beier and they where united in marriage. They farmed in the Parker area until her husband Pat died in 1959 and she moved into Parker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. Grateful for having shared her life are 2 sons, Pete (Aleta), South Sioux City, NE and Phil (Carolyn), Marion, AR; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; a daughter in law, Carole (Dick) Thelen, Redfield, SD. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Bill and Morris, her husband Pat, son Russell, daughter Vonny, a grandson Brian, a great grandson Aaron, and a grand daughter in law, Jodi.
