Donald Ensz

Donald Ensz, age 82, of Marion, SD died on February 19, 2012 in the Freeman Medical Center, Freeman, SD. Memorial services will be at 11:00am Saturday, March 3, 2012 at the Church of God, Marion. Arrangements by the Hofmeister-Jones Funeral Chapel, Marion. Don served in the Air Force with distinction. After his time in the service Don went into a career in engineering and business where he worked for Bendix, Martin Marietta, Pan Am, Amtrak, Ensz General Store, Maritime Fruit, and AAI Corporation. After living all over the world, he chose his birthplace - Marion, SD - as his retirement home. Don put the greatest value on family and friends; he was a dedicated father, and a generous friend. He relished his time with others: morning coffee, pheasant season, the Fourth of July, and family get-togethers. Don was a devoted husband and found much happiness and comfort in his marriages. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife Martha; 4 sons, Dan (Louise), Baltimore, MD, Mark, Pueblo, CO, Tom (Grace), Manaus, Brazil, and Don (Wendy), Sioux Falls; 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandsons; and 4 sisters, Evelyn Butterfield and Martha Beckman, both of Marion, Elaine Tschetter, Sioux Falls, and Alice Burling, Aurora, NE. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Margaret, a brother Darrell, and a sister Mary Lou. Martha requests that donations be made to Freeman Medical Center in Freeman, SD.
