Glen D. Jorgensen

Glen D. Jorgensen, 65, died Friday, April 18, 2008 at Sanford Medical Center, Sioux Falls. Funeral services will be at 10:30am Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at Bethany Lutheran Church, Hurley with burial at the Hurley Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1:00pm Monday at Hofmeister-Jones Funeral Chapel, Hurley. A Prayer Service will be said at 7:00pm Monday evening at the church. with a Prayer Service to be said at 7:00pm. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to a charity. Glen Donald Jorgensen was born on November 5, 1942 at Viborg, SD to Donald and Vivian (Christensen) Jorgensen. After graduating from Hurley High School in 1961 he was involved in trucking with his brothers, Keith and Duane, as Jorgensen Bros. Trucking in Hurley. After trucking for 50 years he retired in 2007. On December 30, 1982 he was united in marriage to Patricia Koehler at Hurley. Glen enjoyed his yearly fishing trips to Canada, deer and elk hunting in the Black Hills, watching the Outdoors Channel and westerns, especially Gunsmoke. He was a great story teller, which brought smiles and laughter to his family and friends. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife Pat; sons Tony (Cindy) Ciampa, Hurley, Tim (Jennifer) Koehler, Sioux Falls, and Travis “TJ” Jorgensen, Rapid City; a daughter, Tina Danielsen, Viborg; 2 brothers, Keith (Jeanne) and Duane (Betty), all of Hurley; and 5 grandchildren, Kaylee Ciampa, Charles Koehler, Ethan Koehler, Nathan Ciampa, and Kevin Danielsen. He was preceded in death by her parents and a son Todd Koehler.
