Vivian M. Friman, 81, died Monday, July 21, 2008 at Avera St. Jams Care Center, Yankton. Funeral services will be at 2:00pm Friday at the United Methodist Church, Hurley with burial in the Hurley Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8:00pm Thursday at the church with a Prayer Service at 8:00pm. Arrangements by Hofmeister-Jones Funeral Chapel, Hurley. Vivian Mae Friman was born on February 14, 1927 near Hurley, SD to Eldo and Gladys (Benson) Friman. She took care of her parents and many others in the Hurley, Parker, and Viborg areas. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Senior Citizens, all of Hurley. Grateful for having shared her life are 9 sisters, Geraldine Letchner, Madison, Marion Straw, Mitchell, Edith (Donald) Moe, Letcher, Doris (Victor) Cordell, Huron, Audrey (George) Sample, Flandreau, Margaret Adel, Lake Andes, Eleanor Bjerkaas, Irene, Genette (Kenneth) Rusk, Flandreau, and Carolyn McMahon, Flandreau; 2 brother in laws, Lester Hansen, Viborg and Herbert Gossel, Kimball, and 2 sister in laws, Phyllis Friman, Lennox and Dorothy Friman, Tripp; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Dorothy and Frances, and 3 brothers, Gene, Jim, and Richard. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to any charity.
