Laura M. Bousfield

Laura Marie Finn was born on October 27, 1907 at Alcester, SD to Louis and Amanda (Peterson) Finn. Shortly after the family moved to Montrose than to Parker where she attended Parker High School. On November 23, 1925 she was united in marriage to Ray Bousfield at Canton, SD. Her husband died in 1968. She was employed at Sisson Dry Cleaners and the Parker School Lunch Program. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Parker. Her interest where her family and she was an expert seamstress. Her daughter Esther attributed her Mother’s long life to her dedication to her family and the church. Grateful for having shared her life are her 6 children, Esther Sisson and husband Marlyn, Parker, Elaine Gortmaker and her husband Bill, Sioux Falls, Joy Berthelsen and her husband Howard, Parker, Vivian Hopf and her husband Marvin, Madison, Connie Havard and her husband Bob, Albany, MN, and Bud Bousfield and his wife Margaret, Parker; 17 grandchildren, 34 great great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren; a sister, Elsie Finn, Parker and a brother, Louis Finn, Parker. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers Ward, Maurice, and Leonard. Funeral Services will be at 10:30am Friday, August 1, 2008 at First Presbyterian Church, Parker with burial in Rosehill Cemetery, Parker. Visitation will be on Thursday at Hofmeister-Jones Funeral Home, Parker with a Prayer Service to be said at 7:30pm.
