Raymond C. Carlson, 79, died Saturday, August 2, 2008 at Southridge Health Care Center, Sioux Falls. Graveside services will be on Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at Spring Valley Lutheran Cemetery, Turkey Ridge, SD. Arrangements by Hofmeister-Jones Funeral Home, Parker. Raymond C. Carlson was born on January 19, 1929 at Alexandria, SD to Arthur G. and Bertha L. (Thompson) Carlson. On April 5, 1953 he was united in marriage to Maxine Christensen at Spring Valley Lutheran Church at Viborg, SD. He lived and farmed at Alexandria until 1984 when he moved to Mitchell and later to Sioux Falls. His wife Maxine died in 1986. Grateful for having shared his life are 2 sons, James and wife Cheryl, Mission Hill, SD and John and wife Sue, Rapid City, SD; 2 grandsons, Jeremy and James; and a special friend, Rose DeJager, Sioux Falls.
