Darlyne K. Dains

Darlyne Dains, 87, died Sunday, September 21, 2008 at Avera McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls. Funeral mass will be at 10:30am Thursday, September 25, 2008 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Marion with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-5:00pm Wednesday at Tieszen Memorial Home Chapel with a Prayer Service to be said at 7:00pm Wednesday evening at the church. Arrangements by Hofmeister-Jones Funeral Chapel, Marion. Darlyne Katherine Dains was born on March 17, 1921 at Marion, SD to Earl and Elizabeth (Behrendt) Dains. She grew up at Marion where she graduated from Marion High School in 1939. During WW II she worked in the shipyards in Seattle. She was employed at the Tieszen Clinic in Marion for over 20 years. She was a lifetime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a 62 year member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Grateful for having shared her life are 6 brothers and sisters, Alva Dains, Parker, CO, Kenneth (Rosemary) Dains, Earl (Evelyn) Dains, Geraldine Dains, and Noreen “Dolly” (Gene) Ortman, all of Sioux Falls, and Donald (Gwen) Dains, Marion; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Nadine, and brothers Marvin and Vernon “Bruz”.
