Jeanette Weegar

Jeanette Weegar, 90, died Sunday, December 28, 2014 at Sanford USD Medical Center, Sioux Falls, SD. Funeral services will be at 11:00am Friday, January 2, 2015 at First English Lutheran Church, Parker with burial at Rosehill Cemetery, Parker. Visitation with family present will be from 5-7pm Thursday at the Hofmeister Jones Funeral Home, Parker with a Prayer Service at 7:00pm. Jeanette Martha Ahrendt was born on September 10, 1924 on a farm east of Parker, SD to Herbert and Minnie (Rehmstedt) Ahrendt. She went to all eight grades in a one room school house and went to Humboldt High School. She married Alvin Kasten and they farmed in McCook County. In 1959 she was united in marriage to Keith Weegar and they moved to Leadville, CO where they lived for 25 years. Keith worked in the mine and Jeanette worked in the Chester Club, then managed motels and apartment complexes before moving back to an acreage east of Parker. She loved bowling and flowers, but most of all she loved all her family and friends. She was a faithful member of the Lutheran Church where she was a member her entire life having been confirmed and baptized in First English Lutheran Church in Parker. Grateful for having shared her life are 5 children, Joel Kasten, Round Mountain, NV, Barbara Hansen, Chester, SD, Bonnie (Bill) Banks, Elko, NV, Larry (Terri) Kasten, Sioux Falls, and Patrick (Patsy) Weegar, Mankato, MN; 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren; a sister in law, Kay Johnson, Parker; and 2 brother in laws, Bill Weegar, Hurley, and Orval Weegar, Parker. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Keith, brother Walter and sister Lillian, and sons Richard and Michael.
