Johanna "Joey" Kraemer

Joey (Johanna) Kraemer, 95, passed peacefully surrounded by family on April 27, 2015, at Hospice of the Valley Care Center in Goodyear, Arizona, after a brief illness. Funeral services will be Monday, May 4th at 10am at First English Lutheran Church in Parker, South Dakota, with burial at the Rosehill Cemetery in Parker, South Dakota. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-4pm at the Hofmeister-Jones Funeral Home, Parker. Johanna Eliza Steinhauer was born August 26, 1919, near Marion, South Dakota. She was baptized at Zion Lutheran in Hurley, South Dakota. Johanna married Rex Kraemer on August 24, 1945. They lived on a farm north of Parker until they moved into Parker. Johanna was very active in her church and community. She moved to Arizona in 2011 to live closer to her son and his family. Grateful for having shared her life are her husband Rex; her son Charles (Susan), Goodyear, Arizona, 2 grandchildren Chris Kraemer (Leah) of Goodyear, Arizona; Kendra Montoya of Goodyear, Arizona, and 2 great grandchildren – AJ Kraemer and Trae Montoya. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Rex, and siblings Ted, Emil, Paul, Bernard, Ida, Sara, and Olinda. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley in Phoenix, Arizona.
