Nathan A. Sunderland

Nathan Sunderland, 42 of Lake Benton, MN died Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Avera McKennan Hospital. A family gathering will be held from 6-8:00pm Tuesday at the Heritage Funeral Home, Sioux Falls. Burial will be at 11:00am Wednesday at Rosehill Cemetery, Parker. Nathan Adam Sunderland was born on August 30, 1973 at the Freeman Hospital to Allen and Lorraine (Hanisch) Sunderland. They lived in South Dakota before he moved with his family to Jasper, MN where he attended school. He lived in southwest Minnesota for most of his life and worked various jobs from manufacturing, farm work, and restaurants as a chef. Grateful for having shared his life are a daughter Cassandra Sunderland, Kansas City, MO; his mother Lorraine Johnson, Sioux Falls; fiancé and her daughter Sarah Meyer and Sabrina, Lake Benton, MN; 5 brothers and sisters Kevin (Heidi) Sunderland, Hurley, Paula (Ted) Lingen, Jasper, David Sunderland, Montrose, Mary (Mike) Eliason, Canton, and Danielle (Michael) Meier, Sioux Falls; step father Don Johnson, Sioux Falls; his grandmother Marcella Sunderland, Canton; and his Papa Dennis Viland, Jasper. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
