Anna Stevens

Anna Stevens, 94, died Thursday, April 23, 2009 at the Freeman Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be at 1:30pm Monday at the Hofmeister-Jones Funeral Home, Parker with burial in Rosehill Cemetery, Parker. Visitation will be from 2-3:00pm Sunday at the Tieszen Memorial Home, Marion and from 4-8:00pm at the Hofmeister-Jones Funeral Home, Parker. For obituary and online registry please visit www.hofmeisterjones.com. Anna Unruh was born on March 20, 1915 at Saskatchewan, Canada to Andrew and Margaret (Platt) Unruh. At an early age the family moved to the United States and she attended school at Marion. On March 30, 1935 she was united in marriage to Jacob “Ernie” Stevens at Mitchell, SD. They lived at Parker until moving to Sioux Falls in 1959. In 2006 she moved to Marion and became a resident of the Tieszen Memorial Home in 2008. She was a former member of the Parker United Methodist Church and was active with the Salvation Army in Sioux Falls. Her husband died in 1997. Grateful for having shared her life are 3 children, Lee Roy (Erma), Sioux Falls, Eileen (Norman) Scheidt, Marion, and Nina (Vern) Stubbe, Scraton, IA; a sister, Margaret Koch, Colorado Springs, CO; 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 8 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a grandson Jimmy, and 8 brothers and sisters.
