Alice Woltzen Weeldreyer

Alice Woltzen Weeldreyer, 100 died Monday, April 11, 2016 at the Tieszen Memorial Home in Marion. Funeral services will be at 2:00pm Thursday, April 14, 2016 at the Tieszen Home Chapel, Marion. Visitation will be for an hour starting at 4:00pm Wednesday at the Tieszen Home Chapel. Arrangements by Hofmeister Jones Funeral Home. Alice was born on January 28, 1916 to Winnie and Angie (Bronson) Baker in Esmond, SD. She attended the Monroe Public Schools. On September 25, 1932 she was united in marriage to Harry Woltzen with Rev. William Ewert officiating. She joined the First Reformed Church in October of 1932 and remained a member her entire life. Together they farmed in the larger Monroe community until her husband's death in June of 1970. She married Mike Weeldreyer on January 4, 1977. He died on December 3, 1983. Mother loved the simple things of life. She loved her family, she was a very giving, unselfish person who put everybody else before herself. In her younger years she enjoyed helping others, she enjoyed flowers, being outside, riding in the country to enjoy nature and fishing. She lived on a farm all of her married life. She also love Home and having her children and family visit. She was a very special lady. Grateful for having shared her life are 4 children, Mary Wells, Ann (Dean) Wittrock, and Darlene (Paul) Engbrecht, all of Marion and Harold (Joanne) Woltzen, Everett, Washington; 14 grandchildren, Ivan and Marty Begeman, Linda (Begeman) and Ed Luke, Terry and Anna Begeman, Hope (Begeman) and Todd Obele, Ray and Nicki Begeman, David and Jan Wittrock, Allison (Wittrock) and Rod Genzlinger, Kathy (Wittrock) and Tony Kirchner, Laura (Engbrecht) and Jim Wilson, Caroline (Engbrecht) Andersen, Muriel Engbrecht, Debra (Woltzen) and Greg Rew, Vicki (Woltzen) and Paul Cook, and Rick and Jeanine Woltzen; 2 sisters, Deanna and Olive Baker, Hurley; and a number of great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, sisters Grace Baker, Irene Baker, and Gladys Enos, grandsons Robert Woltzen and Dale Allen Wittrock, and her parents.
