Loren Ralph Vietor , 57 of Raleigh, NC, was born on June 6, 1951 in Parker, South Dakota to Virgil and Evelyn Vietor and went to be with the Lord on May 31, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer. Loren is survived by his son Kelly Jon Vietor and two sisters, Connie Dent and Janet Viet, also nieces Deborah Smaltz, Melanie Colavito, Leslie Vitelli and Nephew Timothy Viet. He was preceded in death by his parents. Loren attended high school in Parker, SD and graduated from Dakota State College with a Business Degree. He had an extensive management career in the construction and mining industry employed by Portec-Pioneer St.Paul, MN, Technetics Industries, White Bear Lake, MN, Premier Aggregates, Virginia, MN and Interstate Crushing, Raleigh, NC. He was an avid hunter and looked forward to his annual deer and pheasant hunting trips back to South Dakota. He also enjoyed playing golf and riding his Harley. He spent his last 5 months traveling in his motor coach, visiting family and friends. The memory of his smiling face and positive upbeat attitude will be held in the hearts and memories of all who loved him. A memorial service will be held at Hofmeister-Jones Funeral Home in Parker, SD on June 27, 2009 @ 1:00 pm with internment at Rosehill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation given in honor of Loren Vietor is requested to be made to: American Cancer Society, Po Box 22718 Oklahoma City, Ok 73212-1718 or www.cancer.org. Kelly would like to extend appreciation to the oncology staff of Rex Hospital Raleigh,NC, and the ICU staff of Morristown Memorial Hospital Morristown,NJ and all the prayers and support of family and friends. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” 2 Timothy 4:7
