Frances J. Begeman, 89 of Parker died Thursday, July 28, 2016 at the Tieszen Memorial Home, Marion. Funeral services will be at 10:30am Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at United Methodist Church, Parker with burial at Rosehill Cemetery, Parker. Visitation with family present will be from 6-8pm Monday evening at Hofmeister Jones Funeral Home, Parker with a Prayer Service at 7:0pm. In lieu of flowers memorials maybe directed to the Parker United Methodist Church. Frances Jean Jongewaard was born on September 21, 1926 near Parker to Cornelius and Esther (Wendt) Jongewaad. She attended school at Parker where she graduated from Parker High School in 1944. After graduation she worked at the Parker Bakery before being united in marriage to Frederick Begeman on October 7, 1945 at Parker. They owned and operated the Parker Hatchery starting in 1952, retiring in 1984. For 14 years she was employed at the Parker Steakhouse. She was a lifetime member of the Parker United Methodist Church, past member of the Parker Ambulance, Library Board, and Par Mar Valley Country Club. Her husband Fred died in 2001. Grateful for having shared her life are 4 children, Julie (George) Lawyer, Oregon City, OR, Dorothy (Russell) Poppe, Willow Spring, NC, Allen (Brenda) Begeman, Mahtomedi, MN, and Gary (Gail Griffith) Begeman, Philomont, VA; 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; a sister Joan Lundie, Brookings, SD; and a sister in law, Jean Jongewaard, Pensacola, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Fred in 2001, an infant daughter Carol, 2 brothers, John and Larry, and 2 sisters, Melba and Helen.
