Dreldon Steward, 93 of Parker died Saturday, August 13, 2016 at the Lennox Good Samaritan Center. Funeral services will be 10:00am Thursday, August 18, 2016 at First English Lutheran Church, Parker with burial in the Hurley Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-6pm Wednesday evening at the Hofmeister Jones Funeral Home, Parker. Dreldon Steward was born on May 3, 1923 at Hurley, SD to Jess and Lena (Drake) Steward. On November 7, 1941 he was united in marriage to Mildred Berthelsen at Luverne, MN. He served in the US Navy during WW II. For 33 years he was employed with the Turner County Highway Department, retiring in 1985 as superintendent. He was a member of First English Lutheran Church, Parker. Grateful for having shared his life are his 2 children, Dennis (Tammie), Gillette, WY and Douglas (Wanda), Lennox; 4 grandchildren, Carrie Zahn, Rochelle Metzger, Sean Steward, and Shannon Steward Nelson; 4 great grandchildren Carson, Jersey, Killian, and Jaydon; special neighbors, Theresa and Ricki Larsen, Jim Graber, and all those who helped him stay living in his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mildred in 2014, brother Warren, and a sister Ruth Christensen.
