Thomas L. Lehmann, 60, of Hurley and formerly of Rapid City, died of natural causes on Sunday, January 22, 2017. Memorial services will be at 2:00pm Friday, January 27, 2017 at Harmony Presbyterian Church in Hurley. As was his wishes a service will be held this summer in the Black Hills and Hurley. Arrangements by Hofmeister Jones Funeral Home. Thomas LuVerne Lehmann was born on October 26, 1956 at Yankton, SD to LuVerne and Christine (Muhmel) Lehmann. He grew up near Turkey Ridge and graduated from Hurley High School in 1974. While in high school he won a state championship in track in the pole vault. After receiving his BS degree from Dakota State College in Madison he taught school in Ft. Pierre, Norris, and Irene, South Dakota where he also coached girls basketball and track. He was united in marriage to Becki Myreholt on June 14, 1980 at Harmony Presbyterian Church in Hurley. After teaching he went into sales as he was a natural born salesman. His greatest enjoyment in life was his three daughters, Sara, Melissa, and Jessica. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle in the Black Hills. Grateful for having shared his life are his three daughters, Sara (Brandon) Barker, Signal Mountain, TN, Melissa Lehmann and Jessica Lehmann, both of Rapid City; 2 grandchildren Aly and Bear; his wife Becki Lehmann, Rapid City; 3 sisters, Carol (Les) Veen, Okoboji, IA, Kay (Pete) Schweitzer, Rapid City, and Lisa (Ron) Petersen, Hurley; and special friend, Lynne Freese, Hurley. He was preceded in death by his parents.
