Rodney Merle Shea, age 71, of Middleton, WI, passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at the Agrace Hospice Center in Fitchburg, WI. He was born on March 10, 1945, in Sioux Falls, SD, to Merle and Edna Shea. Rodney was a native of Parker, SD and graduated from Parker High School in 1963. Rodney retired from the U.S. Forest Service after 35 years of federal service. Rod enjoyed working on his Ford Mustangs, photography and cooking. With a tool for everything, he mastered woodworking and even built replicas of Dutch windmills. He was proud of his South Dakota roots. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sara; son Todd (Dawn) Shea of Holmen, WI; granddaughters Briana and Brooke Shea; brother Wally (Lana) Shea of Ankeny, IA; sister Jean Shea of Ankeny, IA; sister-in-law Linda (Don) Imhoff of Madison, WI; and four nieces and their families. He was preceded in death by parents Merle and Edna Shea (Parker, SD), and infant brother Bertrum. Visitation with family present will be from 4-7:00 p.m. Monday, March 13th at Hofmeister Jones Funeral Home, Parker, SD. Funeral services will be 11:00am Tuesday, March 14th at First Baptist Church, Parker, SD, followed by burial at Rosehill Cemetery in Parker. May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind always be at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, and rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
