Marjorie L. Huber, 91 of Parker, died Friday, March 24, 2017 at the Tieszen Home, Marion. Memorial services will be at 11:00am Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at First Presbyterian Church, Parker. Visitation with family present will be from 5-7pm Tuesday evening at the Hofmeister Jones Funeral Home, Parker and visitation Tuesday from 3-4pm at the Tieszen Home Chapel. Marjorie L. Huber was born on October 31, 1925 near Ipswich, SD to Don and Gladys (Thomas) Herrick. At the age of 5 her mother died while giving birth and she was raised by her aunt, Olga Herrick. After graduating from Ipswich High School she received her teaching degree from Sioux Falls College. In 1946 she was married to Fred Nelson, Jr at Ipswich. To this union 3 children where born, Renee, Fred III, and Don E. She was involved in education where she taught school in Huron, Redfield, Sioux Falls, Hartford, Holland, MN and Pipestone, MN. On December 23, 1972 she was united in marriage to James Huber at Parker. They lived in Parker where she operated a home daycare for 17 years. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Ruth Circle, and the Parker Senior Citizens. She enjoyed reading, piano music, and singing. Grateful for having shared her life are her husband James “Jim”; children Renee (Don) Munce, Sioux Falls and Fred (Sara) Nelson, III, Minot, ND; 4 grandsons, Brent (Joleen) Munce, Thayne (Hannah) Munce, Fred Nelson IV, and Alex Nelson; and 2 great granddaughters, Alexa Munce and Carly Munce. She was preceded in death by her parents, aunt Olga, a son Don E. Nelson, brothers Phillip, William, and Robert, and sisters, Vivian and Betty.
