Edward L. Cink, 67, died Saturday, September 12, 2009 of a stroke at the Sacred Heart Medical Center at Riverbend in Springfield, Oregon. Ed was born October 21, 1941, in Parker, SD., to John and Harriet (Hovaldt) Cink. He married Sandra Neumann on October 26, 1968, in Reno, Nevada. After graduating from Parker High School, he went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in education from General Beadle State Teachers College and a Master of Arts degree in education from the University of Oregon. Ed was a high school Mathematics teacher in Jasper, MN and in Lakeview, OR. He currently has been with the US Postal Service more than twenty years in Springfield/Eugene area. Survivors include his wife, Sandy, three daughters, Sheila (Fred) Lanier of Olathe, Kansas, Tiffany (Vic Johnson) Cink and Amy (Joaquin) Caire both of Eugene and one son, Robert, also of Eugene; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild; three sisters, Jo (Tom) Marso of Parker, SD, Elaine (Ken) Wagner of Corsica, SD, and Kathryn Natwick of Madison, SD; four brothers, Jim (Kathy) , Tom (Mary), Paul (Shirley) all of Sioux Falls, and Andy (Joyce) of Frisco, TX. A recitation of the Rosary will be at 7:00pm Thursday, September 17th at St. Paul Catholic Church in Eugene, OR. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am Friday, September 18th at St. Paul Catholic Church. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, September 26th at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Sioux Falls, SD located at 3601 E. Dudley Lane.
