Greg Malin

Greg Malin, 57 of Viborg died Friday, August 11, 2017 at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30am Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at St. Boniface/Idyllwild Catholic Church, rural Freeman with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will begin at 3:00pm on Tuesday at the church with a Scripture Service to be said at 4:00pm. Arrangements by Hofmeister Jones Funeral Chapel, Viborg. Gregory Paul Malin was born on December 27, 1959 at Deer Park, NY to Chet and Eileen (Connors) Malin. He grew up and attended schools in the New York before moving with his family to South Dakota in 1999. One of his greatest blessings in life was his Mother and the care and love she was able to provide him. She went above and beyond to make sure she was always there for him. She died in 2002. He was an honorary member of the Viborg Lions Club. Greg loved watching airplanes and trains, helping people open doors, letting the dogs in and out, helping around the house, looking out the window and playing in the pool. The Malin house was always the brightest in the neighborhood as he like to turn on all the lights. He especially loved toys that were visual and playing games and with puzzles. He had a special twinkle in his eye and loved giving out kisses. Grateful for having shared his life are his father Chet; 3 sisters, Dale Cush, Nesquehoning, PA, Donna (Bill) Manning, Jackson, NJ, and Jill (John) Gemelli, Palm Coast, FL; 5 nieces and nephews, Joshua, Jesi, Samantha, Ashleigh, and Niki; and a great niece, Aliyah.
