Helen A. Holm

Helen A. Holm, 103 years young, died Sunday, February 11, 2018 at the Pioneer Memorial Nursing Home, Viborg. Funeral services will be at 1:00pm Friday, February 16, 2018 at Bethany Lutheran Church, Viborg with burial at the Bang Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon at the church. Arrangements by Hofmeister Jones Funeral Home. Helen Harriet Holm was born on January 19, 1915 at Wing, ND to John B. and Anna (Jorstad) Pederson. She received her education at the Augustana Academy in Canton. On February 14, 1941 she was united in marriage to Raymond Gustafson. He died on March 25, 1946 from a farm accident. For a number of years she lived at Irene, SD and was employed at the South Dakota State Hospital in Yankton. She married Leonard Holm in 1948. After having been a resident of the Pioneer Villa she was a resident of the Pioneer Memorial Nursing Home. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church. Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Ruby and her husband Lloyd Sorensen of Sioux Falls, and Ordell and his wife Sue Gustafson of East Wenatchee, WA; 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Raymond Gustafson, a son and daughter in law, Charles and Sandra Gustafson, a sister Olga Gran, and brothers Oliver and Selmer Pederson.
