Jerry Flynn

Jerry Flynn, 58, died Friday, May 7, 2010 at his home of natural causes. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at St. Christina Catholic Church, Parker with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday at the Hofmeister-Jones Funeral Home, Parker with family present from 7-8:00pm. Jerald Alan Flynn was born on October 16, 1951 at Sioux Falls to LaVerne and Deloris (Rapp) Flynn. He grew up at Parker and graduated from Parker High School in 1969. After graduating from the University of South Dakota at Vermillion he worked for K-Mart in Chicago for a year before moving back to South Dakota. He was employed as a state auditor for the South Dakota State Department of Legislative Audit for 32 years, retiring in 2007. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and his cabin at Swan Lake. Grateful for having shared his life are his mother Deloris; 2 brothers Ron (Vicki) Flynn, Essex, IA, and Kelly (Barb) Flynn, South Sioux City, NE; 3 sisters, Jean (Garland) Marso, Douglas, WY, Rita (Dan) Shaheen, Grand Rapids, MI, and Patty (Bob) Stapleton, Omaha, NE; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his Dad, brother Mike, and an infant sister Laurie.
