Clara Jane Petersen

Clara Jane Petersen, 83, died Friday, July 2, 2010 at the Lennox Good Samaritan Center. Funeral services will be 10:30am Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at Grace Lutheran Church, Parker with burial in Rosehill Cemetery, Parker. Visitation will be Monday at the Hofmeister-Jones Funeral Home, Parker with family present from 6-8:00pm Monday evening. Clara Jane Knudsen was born on January 29, 1927 at Marion, SD to Peter and Christine (Nielsen) Knutsen. After graduating from Parker High School she was united in marriage to Frisco D. Petersen on September 29, 1946 at Parker. She had been employed at Koehns Variety and served as deputy and elected Treasure for Turner County for 15 years, retiring in 1988. She was an active member of the Grace Lutheran Church since 1953, having taught Sunday school, choir member, and WELCA member. She enjoyed doing hand work with sewing, knitting, and crocheting, and putting together puzzles. Her husband died in 1992. Grateful for having shared her life are her 4 children, Neil, Tea, SD, Mark (Barb), Buffalo, MN, Joel, Parker, and Jody (Al) Dreves, Lawton, OK; 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; and a brother, Lawrence Knudsen, Watertown. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Frisco, a son Todd, brothers, Carsten, Orville, Egan, Merlin, Harvey, and a sister Esther.
