Mavis J. Knutson

Mavis J. Knutson, 70, died Sunday, September 19, 2010 at her home. Memorial services will be at 2:00pm Saturday, September 25, 2010 at the Bethesda Lutheran Church, Marion. Mavis Jean Myrold was born on May 16, 1940 at Crookston, MN to Arnold and Edith (Nerland) Myrold. She grew up at Crookston where she graduated from Central High School in 1958. On November 3, 1959 she was united in marriage to Richard Knutson at Crookston. They moved to Marion, SD in 1964. She was employed for a number of years at the Tieszen Memorial Home in Marion. She was a very active member of the Bethesda Lutheran Church, Marion. Grateful for having shared her life are her husband Richard; 2 children, Edie (Bob) Schoenwald and Chris Knutson, all of Marion; a daughter-in-law, Tanya (Randy Davidson) Knutson, Sioux Falls; 6 grandchildren, Courtney, Robbie, Danielle, Echo, Skylar, and Brooke; and 3 great grandchildren, Lelani, Saige, and Michael. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Michael, a granddaughter Samantha, a brother Philip, and a sister Janet.
