Dianne C. Spomer, 71, died Sunday, November 14, 2010 at the Pioneer Memorial Hospital in Viborg. Funeral services will be at 1:00pm Thursday, November 18, 2010 at Grace Lutheran Church, Parker with burial at the Hurley City Cemetery, Hurley. Visitation will be from 4-8:00pm Wednesday at the Bethany Lutheran Church, Hurley with a Prayer Service at 7:00pm. Arrangements by Hofmeister-Jones Funeral Chapel, Hurley. Dianne Clair Spomer was born on May 8, 1939 at Battle Creek, NE to J. Marshall and Fern (Eggen) Marshall. After graduating from Battle Creek High School she received her teaching certificate from Concordia College in NE. After teaching school for a year she was united in marriage to Warren Spomer at Battle Creek. They lived in Hurley where she was the bookkeeper for Spomer’s Market for many years and later was employed as the secretary for Rechnagel Construction. She was an active member in Hurley of Bethany Lutheran Church, Senior Citizens, and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed attending and watching her grandchildren’s activities, playing cards, quilting, and cross stitching. Grateful for having shared her life are her husband Warren; 2 sons, Tim Spomer, Tea, and Todd (Hilaire) Spomer, Sioux Falls; a daughter Susan Spomer, Hurley; 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; and a son in law, Troy Lee, Hurley. She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter Shari Spomer Lee.
