David Heibult

David Heibult, 75 of Madison, passed away unexpectedly at his home on January 16, 2025. Services will be held at a later date.

David Lee Heibult was born on September 24, 1949 in Canton, SD to Calvin and Angela (Olson) Heibult. When David was young the family moved to Franklin where he attended school in both Franklin and Madison. He graduated from Madison High School.

On June 2, 1969, David enlisted in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He served on the USS Enterprise where he worked on the flight deck. He was Honorably Discharged on June 7, 1973. He returned home and started working for Monsanto as a Quality Inspector. David decided to start his own construction company where they specialized in the demolition of Power and Substations. His job would take him all over the country and the world.

One night at a dance, he met Brenda Cassidy, and they were married on June 15, 1996. They lived for a time in Missouri where David served as a fishing guide on Lake of the Ozarks. He always looked forward to the pheasant hunt in the fall back in South Dakota. David's favorite thing in the world was spending time with his kids and grandkids. He was always excited to teach them new things in the shop or in the great outdoors.

David will be missed, he is survived by his wife Brenda of Madison; children Andrew (Melissa) Heibult of Bentonville, AR and Sarah Heibult of Rolla MI; step-children John Cassidy of St. Louis, MO and Stacey (John) Baumgarth of Villa Ridge, MO; grandchildren Tyler (Cami) Baumgarth, Clayton (Kelsey) Baumgarth, and Aubrey Heibult; great-grandson Garth Baumgarth; siblings Gary Heibult and Katie Heibult; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. David is preceded in death by his parents Calvin and Angela Heibult, and brother Rodney Heibult
