Jack William Thomson was born on September 26, 1946 to Harry and Gladys (Goudy) Thomson. He graduated from high school in Detroit, Michigan and enlisted in the United States Army on November 1, 1965. Jack served during the Vietnam War, being Honorably Discharged on October 31, 1967.
Over the years, Jack worked as a Drug and Alcohol counselor. He helped primarily in the jail system, but helped at the state level as well as working with Indian Health Services to help those living on Tribal Lands.
Jack’s favorite hobby was fishing. He spent most of his time at the Missouri River, but spent time at Lake Madison and other local lakes. If anyone wanted to go with him, Jack would always have a rod and reel ready to go for them.
Jack moved to Parker in 2015. He enjoyed taking his dogs Buddy, Wally, and Remi for walks around town and in the river bottom. Jack loved to visit, and his door was always open to those with questions, wanting to hear fishing stories, or selling Girl Scout cookies.
Jack will be missed. He is survived by his son Jeff; brothers Doug and Jim; nieces, nephews and friends. Jack was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Gladys Thomson and sister Kathy.
He was greeted in heaven by his dogs Buddy, Wally, and Remi.
