Jerry Hagen

Jerry Hagen, 84 of Parker, passed away on January 2, 2023 at the Sanford USD Medical Center, Sioux Falls. Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 7, 2023 at the Chancellor Reformed Church, Chancellor. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM Friday, January 6, 2023 at Hofmeister-Jones Funeral Home, Parker. Arrangements provided by Hofmeister-Jones Funeral Home. Gerald Lee Hagen of Parker SD passed away at Sanford Medical Center on January 2, 2023 with family by his side. Jerry was born September 13, 1938 to Virgil and Emily Hagen in Detroit MI. Shortly after his birth the family moved to Parker SD where he married the love of his life, Wandalee Hokenstad on August 30, 1956. To this union they had 5 children Kelly, Dawn, Fawn, Kevin, and Robin. Jerry enjoyed fishing with his cousins at the Missouri River as well as traveling to Canada to catch the big northern . He also did many hunting trips over the years with family and friends. In his retirement years he loved drinking coffee and playing pool with all his buddies in Parker and Chancellor. He spoke of these fun memories often. He was an active member of Chancellor Reformed Church where he enjoyed the fellowship his church family. Jerry’s career entailed 10 years of custom combining from Oklahoma to the ND border after that he started at the South Dakota Air National Guard crash station where he traveled to Norway and England. He really enjoyed seeing these places over the years. He also drove truck for 28 years before retirement. Jerry is survived by his 4 children Kelly (Jeff) Beebe of Haines City, FL , Dawn Kidder of San Antonio TX, Kevin (Shelly) Hagen of Sioux Falls SD and Robin (Nate) His Law of Pukwana SD; grandchildren Andrew (Molly) Hagen, Cole (Chloe) Hagen, Melissa, Jessica, Elizabeth , Alicia Kidder, Jacob and Nathan Hislaw; great-grandchildren Riley, Ryder, Stevie and Baylor Hagen; sisters Diane Jerdan of IL, Carol (Mike) Halstead of IA and Connie Hagen of GA. He is preceded in death by his wife Wandalee Hagen, daughter Fawn , parents Virgil and Emily Hagen, In laws Thelmar and Mary Hokenstad and grandson Steven (Kevin and Shelly) Hagen.
