JoAnn Unruh, 84 of Marion, passed away on October 10, 2018 at the Tieszen Memorial Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Marion. Visitation with family present will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, October 12, 2018 at the Chapel at Tieszen Memorial Home in Marion. JoAnn Marie Unruh was born on April 6, 1934 in Leith North Dakota to Ed and Myrtle (Horsman) Brinkman. The family moved to Canistota, South Dakota where she was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church and attended school. On September 29, 1958, she was united in marriage to Darred Unruh. They resided in three different homes in Marion SD before they moved to the acreage outside of Marion that they built together and raised their family. Due to health issues, JoAnn was admitted to the Tieszen Memorial Nursing home in November of 2013. Our mom enjoyed fishing, bowling, Bingo and loved to watch sports. She was an avid fan of the Minnesota Viking and Twins and loved the time she spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. JoAnn was a member of the Bethesda Lutheran church in Marion and enjoyed being a member of the ladies aide. Grateful for having shared her life are her husband Darred, Three Children, Debbie (Ron) Bohlman, Dean (Dora) Unruh and Tammy (Brian) Carlson. Seven Grandchildren, Jose (Karina), Ronnie, Samantha (Damien), Michael, Chad (Brittany), Wade (Dannielle) and Stacy (Devin). They were blessed with nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. JoAnn peacefully passed away in her sleep on October 10th 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters (Rosie, Betty and June) and one Grandson Eric Bohlman.
