Jon Marsh

Jon Marsh, 46 of Parker, passed away on March 12, 2023 at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls. Memorial Service will be at 3:00 PM Saturday, March 18, 2023 at the Parker Community Building, Parker. Visitation will begin at from 1:00 PM on Saturday. Arrangements provided by Hofmeister-Jones Funeral Home.

Jonathon Dwane Marsh was born on July 25, 1976 in Sioux Falls, SD to LeRoy and Marcia (Becker) Marsh. He joined brother Kevin and sister Cindy, and was followed by sister Jessica. He graduated from Parker High School in 1994 and attended Southeast Tech for a degree in Auto Body Repair. When he finished school, Jon came back to the farm and painted a few tractors. He took great pride in his passion for farming and his family.

On August 29, 1998, Jon was united in marriage to Nicolle Johnson at St. Christina’s Catholic Church. To this union they had 2 sons, Ben and Brandt. As a family, they enjoyed working on the farm, teaching the boys life lessons. Many summers were spent  with trips to the black hills, 4- wheeling with friends and creating lifelong memories.

Jon was a jack-of-all-trades. He was always working on something. If there was a project to be done, he would tackle it. If it was something he hadn’t done before, Jon would take the time to do the research to make sure it was done correctly. Jon was always willing to help anyone in need. Jon loved his family. He was so proud of the boys and it was his goal to teach them everything they would need to succeed in farming and life.

Jon will be missed. He is survived by his wife Nicolle and sons Ben and Brandt of Parker; parents LeRoy and Marcia Marsh of Parker; siblings Kevin (Charla) Marsh of Parker, Cindy (Doug) Junker of Lenox, IA, and Jessica Michels of Lewsitown, MT; brother-in-law Kyle (Theresa) Johnson of Sioux Falls; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Jon was preceded in death by his grandparents and his in-laws Donn and Patricia Johnson.
