Karen Mielke, 58 of Parker, passed away on November 30, 2018 at Ava’s House in Sioux Falls after a brave battle with cancer. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at Hofmeister-Jones Funeral Home in Parker. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service. Karen Mielke, 58, of Parker, SD went to be with the Lord on November 30 surrounded by her family. Karen was a kind, loving and selfless woman who was adored by her children, grandchildren, family and friends. She was a driven, hard working individual who pursued excellence in every area of life. While her faith in Jesus and her family were her greatest passions, she also was deeply invested in enriching the lives and wellbeing of others. Karen earned a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Missouri and owned Home Sweet Home Childcare where she cared for hundreds of children throughout her thirty years in business. Among many achievements, she earned a second degree black belt in Taekwondo and competed on a national level. Karen's legacy will live in the hearts of many for years to come. She is survived by her children: Amy (David), Ashley (Tony) and Aaron; Grandchildren: Ethen, Katherine and Natalie; Parents: Walter and Jean Mielke; Brothers: Kevin (Kris), Keith, Kurtis and Kyle (Holly). And proceeded in death by her son: Adam; Grandparents: Vernon and Ella Beitz and Gus and Anna Mielke. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Oasis of Hope Hospital.
