Kathleen Roth

Kathleen Roth, 88 of Sioux Falls, passed away on December 18, 2020. Memorial Mass will be at 7:00 PM Monday, December 21, 2020 at Christ the King Church, Sioux Falls. Kathleen spent her childhood years in Belle Fourche and Igloo, SD. She raised her 5 children in Chadron, NE., Edgemont, Belle Fourche, Spearfish, Rapid City, and Parker, SD.

During her retirement years she lived in Sturgis, Rapid City, and Sioux Falls, SD. She ventured out for some fun snowbird jobs at the Grand Canyon and the Redwood Forest. She loved living in the Black Hills. Her favorite memories were keeping track of the deer and wildlife in her yard, creating detailed birdhouses, shopping for beautiful antiques, reading a good book and playing pinochle and other card games, to win of course.

She enjoyed starting the day with the newspaper and that perfect first cup of coffee, but not too early. She was an active member of the Catholic Church, St. Christina in Parker and Blessed Sacrament in Rapid City. She had to keep up her baking skills for treats at cards with the Holy Elders and funeral dinners.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Gertrude ( Specht) Coyle, sister Margie Apland (Kenneth), three siblings who passed in childhood, son Larry Roth, and granddaughter Jennifer Roth. She is survived by her sister Elaine Trotter (William), her children Linda Baldwin, Sharon Roth, Mike (Patti) Roth, and Mark (Amy) Roth, grandchildren Christine, Heather, Stephanie, John, Kate, Grace, Levi, Mary Jane, Caleb, Jack, Lucy, Liza, Callie and great-grandchildren Celia, Owen, Quinn, Avery, Evan, Oliver, Hayden and Liam.
