Mona Marscheider

Mona Marscheider, 61 died Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at her home under hospice care with her husband Doug by her side.  Memorial services will be at 1:00pm Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at the Heritage Funeral Home, 57th and Minnesota, Sioux Falls, SD with family gathering starting an hour before.  Arrangements by Hofmeister Jones Funeral Home.

Mona Louise Marscheider was born in 1962 at Britton, South Dakota to Earl and Betty (Bohnenkamp) Marscheider.  She grew up at Hecla, South Dakota where she graduated from Hecla High School in 1981.  Continuing her education she graduated from South Dakota State University in Brookings where she received both her BS and Masters Degrees in Psychology.  On May 15, 1993 she was united in marriage to Doug Dykstra where they have lived in Sioux Falls for the past number of years.

Grateful for having shared her life are her husband Doug Dykstra; her Dad, Earl Marscheider; a sister Lori Marscheider; a brother-in-law, Lonnie Scheid; her mother-in-law, Helen Dykstra; 9 brothers and sisters-n-law, Debra (Roger) Kleinschmidt, Gordon (Julie) Dykstra, Steve (Stephanie) Dykstra, Randy Dykstra, Rev. Richard (Carol Ann) Dykstra, Mark (Barbara) Dykstra, Cheryl Geraets, Robin (Judy) Dykstra, and Chad (Kiesha) Dykstra; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  She was preceded in death by her mother Betty, her sister Pam Scheid, father-in-law, Irvin Dykstra, and a sister-in-law Sandra Sinclair.
