Nick Youngworth

Nickolas John Youngworth, 41, passed away at the Medical Center of Aurora in Denver, CO on April 23, 2024, following a brief illness. A Celebration of Life will be held May 11, 2024 at Heritage Funeral Home, 4800 S Minnesota Ave. Sioux Falls, SD with family present from 10-12, a service at 11:30 and lunch following.

Nick was born on July 19, 1982 in Sioux Falls, SD to Grant and Carla (Gaffin) Youngworth. He was such a happy and inquisitive child who grew into a kind, respectful, witty, and fun-loving man. Nick graduated from Harrisburg High School in 2001, where he lettered in track and cross country and was student council president. He attended Dakota State University, where he worked as a Resident Advisor in Richardson Hall and earned his BS in Computer Science in 2005.

Nick moved to Denver, CO in 2006 to follow his passion of outdoor adventures including skiing, snowboarding, and hiking. He worked as a software and game developer for several companies and loved collecting interesting electronics, gadgets, and games. He filled his spare time working as a DJ and showing off his moves on the dance floor. Over the years Nick hosted innumerable gatherings of family and friends, making special effort to ensure every guest felt welcome and at home.

Nick is survived by his parents Grant and Carla Youngworth, of Harrisburg, SD; his sister, Kristin Youngworth of Denver, CO; Grandmothers, Clarine Gaffin of Sioux Falls, SD and Vaneta “Neats” Youngworth of Vermillion, SD; Uncle, Rich (Amy) Gaffin of Glendale, AZ; Aunt, Linda Youngworth of Sioux Falls, SD; Cousins; Kara Youngworth, Anna Youngworth Olson, Sandra Youngworth, Jeremy (Laura) Gaffin, Alissa Gaffin, Brandi (Nick) Roe, Preston Roe, Sydney (Matt) Kamer, Bailey Gaffin; and his Beloved Lady Friend Maddison and her three boys Sebastian, Maxwell, and Soren. He was preceded in death by Grandfathers Richard Gaffin and Leonard Youngworth, Uncles Leonard Gaffin and Terry Youngworth, and Cousin Breeanne Gaffin.

In accordance with Nick’s wishes, cremation has taken place following organ donation. He believed strongly in paying forward his good fortunes and helping others wherever possible.
