Sjyrlie E. Fisher, 90 of Parker died Thursday, August 31, 2023 at Ava’s House after a brief illness. Funeral services will be at 10:30am Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at the United Methodist Church, Parker with burial in Rosehill Cemetery, Parker. Visitation will be from 5-7pm Monday evening at the church. Arrangements by Hofmeister Jones Funeral Home.
Sjyrlie Eileen Stephens was born on August 27, 1933 in Bridgewater, SD. She grew up in Sioux Falls where she attended Washington High School and worked at the Barrell Drive-In. On September 1, 1950 she was united in marriage to Merwin Hanten and they moved to Parker in 1960. For several years she served as the Turner County Treasurer and later was a teller at Home Federal Bank. In 1982 she was united in marriage to Rodney Fisher and they lived in Parker. For 7 years she owned and operated the Parker Steakhouse. She was a member of the Parker United Methodist Church, Center for Active Generations and a member of several bridge and card clubs.
Grateful for having shared her life are her husband Rod; sons Gary (Denise) Hanten and Bruce Hanten, of Parker; daughters Rhonda (Don) Erickson, Parker and Teresa (Todd) Schwartz, DesMoines, IA; stepson Scott (Gayle) Fisher, San Diego, CA; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Merwin, son Stephen Hanten, brother Ronald and sister Hallie.
