Arlis Hentges, 88 of Humboldt died Saturday, August 13, 2016 at her home. Memorial services will be at 11:00am Thursday, August 18, 2016 at First Presbyterian Church, Parker with private family burial to proceed services at Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation with family present will be from 6-8pm Wednesday evening at Hofmeister Jones Funeral Home, Parker with a Prayer Service at 7:00pm. Arlis Eileen Otten was born on August 10, 1928 at Montrose, SD to Theodore and Althea (Kortemeyer) Otten. After graduating from Parker High School in 1945 she attended college in Madison and recieved her teaching certificate. On May 15, 1948 she was united in marriage to Donald Hentges at Parker, SD. They farmed in the Humboldt area. She was very involved with the First Presbyerian Church, Parker, Humboldt American Legion Auxiliary, 4-H Leader, threshing bees, and the fair. Her husband Don died in 2009. Grateful for having shared her life are 3 children, Gregory (Tami), Watertown, Joy Hentges (Arthur Zamora), Glendale, AZ, and Paul (Linda), Humboldt; 3 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, and 6 step great grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Joyce Egge, Sioux Falls and Vicky Van Hove, Joplin, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Don, a brother Vern and a sister June.
