Violet "Vi" Engbrecht

Violet “Vi” Engbrecht, 79, died unexpectedly Saturday, June 12, 2010 at her home. Services will be held on Wednesday, June 16 at 10:30 am at Trinity Baptist church 2400 West 18th St. Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Visitation is Tuesday from 1 to 8 pm at Heritage Funeral Home. Family will be present from 5 to 8 pm with a prayer service at 7 pm. Visitation will continue Wednesday morning at 9 am at the church. Violet Hofer, daughter of Ed K. and Sadie (Wipf) Hofer was born at Bridgewater, South Dakota on July 23, 1930. She graduated from Bridgewater High School in 1949 and married Ben H. Engbrecht on September 16, 1950 in Dolton, SD. Violet worked at Benny’s Market, Stanley Corner, Davies Drug in Bridgewater, Anderson Flowers in Sioux Falls, and at Lee’s Meats in Tea. Her family was her biggest joy. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Ben H.; her son, Larry (Rachel) Engbrecht of Pierre, SD; her daughter, Lynnette (Rick) Clark of Hector, MN; grandsons, Jason (Brenda) Engbrecht of Pierre, SD; Jeremy (Lindsey) Engbrecht of Hernando, MS; Nathan (Jody) Clark of Belle Fourche, SD; granddaughters, Dr. Jessica (Tom) Graham of Milbank, SD; and Alecia (Matthew) Pankratz of Champlin, MN. Great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Delaney, Grace, Livia, Mazie, Cooper, and Lucy Engbrecht, Isaac and Bennett Graham, Emerson and Alice Violet Pankratz; Sisters, Esther (Bob) Potter and Nancy Hofer of Bridgewater and LaVonne Tschetter of Freeman. Vi was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Vernon, and her great-granddaughter, Ava Graham. Memorials can be directed to Trinity Baptist Church.
