Hazel Nikole Sherard was born September 9, 2016 to Aaron and Haylee (Rand) Sherard. She would later be blessed as a big sister to Loretta Verda (2019) and Clara Tilly (2024).
Hazel loved living on the farm. She especially enjoyed helping her dad and grandpa do chores around the farm and work on John Deere tractors. Hazel was proud of all of the farm animals, and made sure everyone coming on to the farm was privy to meeting the newest additions. She also loved being a big sister and helping her mom and grandma around the house.
She loved attending school, not missing a day this last year. She was extremely proud when she got to wear her first-ever Viborg-Hurley Cougars jersey and be an official Cougar in sports. Hazel found a love for being a catcher on her T-ball team, wanting to gear up every game.
Hazel could often be found outside riding horses, hunting and fishing. She particularly enjoyed hearing about hunting trips and if her mom and dad got their deer.
Hazel is survived by her parents and siblings; her grandparents, Robb and Danielle Sherard of Hurley, and, Dick and Demme Rand of Parker; great grandparents, Verda Sherard of Hurley, Dennis and Mary Kay Smith of Davis, and Dot Zebell of Parker; aunts, Beth (Bobby) Hutcheson of Jefferson, SD, Ivy (Anthony) Jacobs of Sioux Falls, SD and Amie (Noah) Brandt of Larchwood, IA; cousins, Jessica and Daniel Jacobs and Serratelli Brandt; and many honorary and great aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by great grandparents, Darrell Sherard of Hurley, Marlyn and Caryl Rand of Marion, Bud and Margaret Bousfield of Parker and Jim Zebell of Parker; and great aunt Nikki Zebell of Parker.
